What is inner peace?

Inner peace, by definition, refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of stress. It’s a state of mind in which one learns to gain acceptance of things that cannot be controlled like letting go of the fears, doubts, worries and anxieties. Inner peace should be present in your happy days as well as when faced with challenging circumstances.

So easy to define, but not so easy to achieve.

Why do we need it?

Achieving inner peace improves our ability to focus; coming very handy when we need to decide with a clear mind during difficult situations. It helps us remove negativity in our lives, creating an aura that is centered and stable. Being able to freely practice inner peace helps us to relax and enjoy even the little things in life.

But how do we find it?

Acceptance is the first step in finding inner peace. When you start accepting things as they are, you can begin letting go of the worries and anxieties. Thus, you will find yourself calm, collected, emotionally stable and happy.

Finding peace is hard but attainable. It’s a conscious effort that gets more natural with practice especially through meditation. Start by finding a place in your home that is quiet and free of distractions. You can initially do a five-minute meditation and progress when you’re ready. Close your eyes and try to rid yourself of any negative thoughts.

To help remind you of practicing inner peace, we have created these interchangeable pendants for you.

Everything Ying Yang Circle of Love

Ying Yang originated from a Chinese Philosophy that describes how opposite forces can be complementary. Some representations of the black include female, night, the moon, softness, stillness and submission. Representations of the white area on the other hand pertain to male, brightness, the sun, dominance and strength. The small and black white circles are located in the areas of their opposite colors suggesting that in every ying, there is a yang, and in every yang, there is a ying. This symbol reminds us that balance and harmony exists in our world.

Historically, this peace sign was originally designed for the British nuclear disarmament movement back in the 1950’s. Today it is widely used to remind everyone to celebrate peace. This pendant can also remind us to practice inner peace whenever we are stuck in situations that challenge our emotional stability.

The tree of life has many symbolical representations in various religion and mythologies. Some of which are growth, death and rebirth as well as immortality and fertility.

Everyone desires inner peace even in an unconscious level. You don’t need to be a yogi, or a monk to practice inner peace. We can achieve inner peace even as we live our normal, ordinary lives wherever you are in this planet.
